To foster collaborative planning and strengthen system operation and maintenance within its irrigation service areas, the Laguna-Rizal Irrigation Management Office (IMO) conducted a System Management Committee (SMC) meeting for the Malaunod River Irrigation System (RIS) on July 19, 2025, held in San Pablo City, Laguna.
The meeting was spearheaded by the Laguna-Rizal IMO, in coordination with the Local Government Unit of San Pablo. The event brought together key stakeholders, including local officials, and farmer-beneficiaries, to discuss pressing issues and future directions for the sustainable operation of Malaunod RIS.
The System Management Committee serves as a vital mechanism for inclusive governance and participatory decision-making in irrigation development. Through continued coordination between NIA, local government units, and the Irrigators Association, the Malaunod RIS is expected to operate more efficiently and equitably, ensuring sustained agricultural productivity in the area.
