As part of its ongoing initiative to support alternative livelihood opportunities for farmers, the Laguna-Rizal Irrigation Management Office (IMO) conducted a Training on Mushroom Production on July 14, 2025, at the Municipal Hall of Binangonan, Rizal.
The training was specifically organized for the Rizal Federation of Irrigators Associations Inc., gathering around 80 IA presidents along with their members from various municipalities across the province. This capacity-building activity aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and technical skills to explore mushroom production as a sustainable alternative livelihood, especially during off-planting seasons.
The training was facilitated by Ms. Ma. Clavel O. Ymas, President of Mahabang Parang PCIS, who shared her expertise and personal experiences in starting and managing a successful mushroom production enterprise.
The Laguna-Rizal IMO continues to support Irrigators Associations not only in irrigation and agricultural productivity but also by introducing viable livelihood alternatives to improve economic resilience among farming households.
