3 IAs receive recognition from NIA IV-A

PILA, LAGUNA | June 28, 2022, NIA Region IV-A conducted the quarterly Regional Federation of Irrigators’ Association (RFIA) meeting to give updates and feedback from the recently concluded NCIA Meeting. RFIA will adapt the “Sampung Piso mula sa Puso” Program from the NCIA Joint Strategic Planning and Program Development Workshop last June 1-3, 2022 at NIA Central Office.
Some of the highlights from the RFIA Meeting was the awarding of Plaque of Recognition to CY 2021 Nominees for Outstanding IAs by CARP-IC. NIA Region IV-A has three (3) nominees namely, STAMASI IA, Palangue Agrarian Reform Cooperative, and Prenza-Ladron-Balanoy-Sampalocan-Calumpit (PRELABASACA) IA.
STAMASI IA of Sta. Maria River Irrigation System in Laguna has been awarded various citations from different agencies and outstanding IA in regional category of NIA Region IV-A. Palangue Agrarian Reform Cooperative was also awarded CY2020 Outstanding IA in CARP-IC in the regional category. They are known for their high value crop products and delicacies like ube-halaya and shrimp paste. Palangue ARC is also one of the highest contributors in NIA Region IV-A EPAHP sales. To date, their total sales from their EPAHP marketing agreement with BJMP-Naic, BJMP-Bacoor and National Nutrition Council is 1,607,660.25php.
Being one of the outstanding IAs in the regional category, PRELABASACA IA of Prenza CIS in Batangas is gearing towards agro-entrepreneurship such as machinery services, palay trading and fertilizer services.
CARP-IC also awarded a plaque of appreciation to NIA Region IV-A Regional Manager, Engr. Wilson M. Lopez for his unwavering support and continuous effort in grooming successful IAs. | LB Javan, RO
