Engr. Charlie Ibarrola transferred the key of leadership to Engr. Gerardo Perez who will serve as the new IMO Manager of Laguna Rizal IMO.

While, Engr. Nicasio Pagdanganan Jr. turned-over the leadership of Cavite-Batangas IMO to Engr. Jaime De Jesus.

The change of leadership will continue to improve and strengthen the management of NIA IV-A.

Also present during the activity is NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager William Ragodon, NIA IV-A, and NIA MIMAROPA officials.

RENOVATION OF NIA LRIMO OFFICE TO KICKSTART THIS YEAR

May 31, 2021 – NIA Regional Manager Romeo Lopez led the Capsule Laying and Groundbreaking Ceremony of NIA Laguna-Rizal IMO Renovation of its Administration Building inside the Regional Compound, Pila Laguna.

In his speech, he expressed his gratitude to the NIA Top Management for its support to the modernization and improvement effort of the Agency not only in the Regional Office but also to its field offices.

“We would like to thank our Top Management headed by our NIA Administrator Ricardo Visaya for his unwavering support towards the improvement of our facilities here in NIA Region IV-A”, he added.

He shared that this current renovation is the latest improvement project in the region since the Agency already had various improvement and construction project to modernize its facilities.

These include the newly completed Regional Training Center in Pila Laguna, the new administration building of NIA Quezon IMO, and the on-going construction of NIA Cavite-Batangas IMO new administration building.

The renovation pegged at PHP 20-million is set to improve the physical aesthetics and structural integrity of the existing LRIMO office. The construction will be on two (2) phases, the phase 1 is set to commence this year with an allocation of PHP 12.5-million.

The phase 1 of construction will focus on the earthworks, concreting works, steel structures, masonry works, waterproofing works, installation of doors and windows, painting, roofing, electrical and plumbing works.

“Itong gagawin na renovation natin sa LRIMO office ay magpo-promote ng mas spacious na opisina para sa ating mga kasamahan, taking into consideration yung ating mga health protocols with our existing pandemic na patuloy natin nararanasan” RM Lopez.

The two-storey building is set to be completed on 2022 and will promote a more conducive office space for its employees and other NIA stakeholders.

Community Pantry rises at NIA IV-A

As the sun gives light on a day so as the assistance of NIA IV-A gives rays of hope to communities in Pila Laguna.

The 4th Week of Community Pantry was spearheaded by the Administrative and Finance Division in coordination with the baranggay officials.

The activity was started 1st week of May wherein different baranggays/communities were chosen to be the beneficiaries of food packs.

It was made possible with the support of NIA IV-A Management led by RM Romeo Lopez in cooperation with NIAEASP Region 4A Chapter.

EPAHP ORIENTATION GOES TO QUEZON PROVINCE

May 20, 2021 - The National Irrigation Administration Region IV-A conducts its Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program Orientation and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing with partner Agencies in Quezon Province at Apple and Peach Restaurant, Lucena City Quezon.

Said event was led by Cabinet Secretary and NIA Board Chairperson Karlos Alexei Nograles and NIA Administrator Gen Ricardo Visaya who were able to join the activity thru virtual conference.

Partner agencies include the Office of Provincial Governor of Quezon Province, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Education, Landbank, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Agrarian Reform.

In his speech, NIA IV-A Regional Manager Romeo Lopez thanked all the partner agencies who were able to commit and work hand in hand with NIA to address hunger and poverty not only in the province of Quezon but to CALABARZON as a whole.

“Ang paglagda natin sa Memorandum of Understanding dito sa probinsya ng Quezon ay isang mahalagang pasimula upang maipagpatuloy natin ang suporta sa ating mga magsasaka. Ang aktibidad na kagaya nito ay isang mekanismo ng ating pamahalaan upang tutukan at labanan ang problema sa kagutuman at kahirapan”, he added.

NIA Administrator Visaya highlighted the importance of government support to our farmers especially to our Irrigators Associations. He said that this partnership can be a mechanism to promote a more sustainable and more self-reliant IAs by patronizing their agricultural produce to be used for various government food program initiatives.

“Our Irrigators Associations are ready to be partners as food producers and suppliers of rice, vegetables, and root crops, among others. They are also ready to be service providers which would greatly help them to become more self-reliant”, he added.

On the other hand, Cabsec Nograles shared his aspirations with the program as it can be a key player in addressing various challenges in social and economic growth. He said that it needs a concerted actions and holistic approach to mitigate hunger, ensure food security and health, and reduce poverty in the rural communities.

EPAHP is a collaborative efforts of various government agencies to create a greater synergy and convergency in engaging the rural communities to enhance social capital and optimize economic resource base thru supplementary feeding and other government feeding programs, food production programs and essential support services, including the participation of Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in government procurement as partners and/or service providers.

Highlight of the program is the signing of Memorandum of Understanding to officially forge various agencies commitment towards addressing hunger and poverty in the province of Quezon. The EPAHP program orientation is scheduled to be presented to all provinces in CALABARZON to gather more support and appreciation of different public and private organizations

Building Resiliency and attaining mental wellness amidst Covid-19 pandemic

HAPPENING NOW! NIA IV-A Regional Manager Romeo Lopez delivers his message among the participants of Building Resiliency and attaining mental wellness amidst Covid-19 pandemic.

The activity aims to understand the realities of Covid-19 Pandemic and Mental Health Concepts. It will also set to recognize common mental health issues to which the participants will able to build resiliency and attain mental wellness.

"Mahalaga na pagtuunan din natin ng pansin ang ating mental health sapagkat hindi tayo makaka function ng maayos kung puno ang isip natin ng fear, anxiety, trauma, and even depression", said RM Lopez.

He added that the Agency has the responsibility to support its workforce and develop strategies in helping its employees to cope up with our current situation.

The activity will run weekly until June 2021 with different batches per week.
