INSIDE ALABAT FAMILY MODEL FARM! Farmers in Alabat Quezon are seen busy on their 2nd season Farm Preparation in Alabat Family Model Farm. Varieties of High Value Crops including tomato, lettuce, bell pepper, honey D\dew melon and snap beans are set to fill the farm.

According to Alabat LGU Municipal Agriculture Office they are expecting the harvest by the end of July until mid-week of August.

The Alabat Family Model farm was inaugurated last 2019. It features 800sqm. of greenhouse and 1000sqm. of open field and is using drip irrigation technology run by solar-powered irrigation system.

It was an innovation of National Irrigation Administration in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Alabat, Quezon.

LOOK! NIA IV-A Regional Manager and ARDOMA President Engr. Romeo Lopez leads turnover of the 1st Edition ARDOMA Book to NIA Administrator Ricardo Visaya.

Said book caters brief history of Association of Regional Directors and Operations Managers of the Philippines, Inc., its milestones and contributions to NIA in achieving its mission and vision.

It was made possible thru the association’s effort to strengthen ARDOMA with the help of former PAIS Department Manager Pilipina Bermudez.

Books will be available for distribution among NIA Regional Offices, NIA Central Office, and former members of the association.

HAPPENING NOW! NIA Region IV-A kicks-off National Women’s Month Celebration led by NIA Regional Manager Romeo Lopez at NIA compound, Pila Laguna.

This year’s theme “Juana sa Pandemya: Kaya” focuses on the strength and contribution of women amid the challenges brought by global health pandemic - Covid 19.

The program started with Values Restoration Program led by Ms. Lara Javan which focuses on Selflessness as one of the core values of being a public servant.

A welcome remarks was delivered by Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Erwin Lucela who emphasizes the contribution of women in nation building.

“I would like to express my gratitude to our women workforce who are continously overcoming challenges despite pandemic.”, said Engr. Lucela

The Acting Manager of Administrative and Finance Division Ms. Reynaria Tapia started her message on giving concrete examples of women who contributed greatly in the society.

“Our country in Asia remains number one who solidly support women empowerment.”, she added

Regional Manager Romeo Lopez, in his message, reiterated the importance of gender equality specially in workplace. He said that majority of the leadership in NIA central office were led by women which in turn depicts the great contribution of women in the attainment of Agency’s objectives.

“That is why the management is very supportive to women empowerment. Mahalaga po na patuloy natin kilalanin ang kontribusyon ng kababaihan sa pagsulong ng kaunlaran.”, he added.

Part of the program is a seminar regarding the Mental Health Awareness during the pandemic to be presented and discussed by Ms. Betty Duhaylongsod.

Events and succeeding programs are also set for the month-long celebration of National Women’s Month.

NIA IV-A PR Team conducts its 2021 1st Quarter Meeting at Regional Office, Pila Laguna.

Said meeting is part of the Agency's effort to synchronize Public Relations work regionwide. The meeting also aims to strengthen IMO offices in projecting and promoting the best image of the Agency.

Information Officers from the three (3) IMOs including Cavite-Batangas IMO, Laguna-Rizal IMO, and Quezon IMO were oriented on the responsibilities of being an IO Designate. Public Relations activities were also presented to kickstart the implementation of PR works in the region.
