Laguna-Rizal IMO Seminar on Pump Design and Solar Power Technology

PILA, Laguna l NIA Laguna Rizal IMO, under the supervision of Engr. Fidel Martinez, conducted Seminar on the Design of Pump Works including Drilling Works, Solar Powered pump and Motor on June 14, 2024.

Mr. Kelvin Llamoso served as the resource speaker for the said seminar which focused on identifying and determining available solar resources, the size and number of PV panels, the required size of pipes and boreholes for drilling works, and size of pump and motors for reference in project planning and designing that will ensure successful project implementation.

The seminar was attended by SWRFTs, Engineering personnel from Project Planning, Design and Construction Unit.

Successful Disbursement of Cash Payments to Rice Contract Farming Beneficiaries in Collaboration with Cavite Farmers Irrigators Agriculture Cooperative

NIA Cavite-Batangas IMO led by Engr. Edwin Nazareno, in collaboration with the Cavite Farmers Irrigators Agriculture Cooperative, has successfully disbursed the 1st tranche of cash payments to Rice Contract Farming beneficiaries of Balayungan and Kay-AKle River Irrigation Systems. Said initiative has benefited 30 farmer-beneficiaries covering a contracted area of 50 hectares of rice fields in Cavite province.

Farmers Assistance for Recovery and Monetization (FARM) District Launching at Tiaong, Quezon

The National Irrigation Administration Deputy Administrator for Administrative and Finance Sector Mr. Robert Victor Seares, Jr. arrives in Tiaong Convention Center Tiaong, Quezon to show the Agency's support in the conduct of Farmers Assistance for Recovery and Monetization (FARM) District Launching.

An initiative of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and the House of Representatives (HOR), the FARM program is designed to provide financial aid to local farmers and bolster the nation’s rice buffer stock. This initiative directly supports President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr.'s commitment to strengthen the agricultural sector and ensure food security.

The top official received a warm welcome from NIA Quezon IMO Division Manager Engr. Romulo Angeles.

REGIONWIDE MIDYEAR IDP SUPERVISION MONITORING, EVALUATION AND SUPPORT (SMES)

NIA Region IV-A Institutional Development Unit together with Laguna-Rizal IMO, Cavite-Batangas IMO, and Quezon IMO conducted its 2-day Supervision, Monitoring and Support ( SMES )at NIA Training Center, Pila, Laguna.

A semi-annual regular meeting, the activity aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each IMO in IDP Implementation. It also caters discussion to source out opportunities for a more successful implementation and replan the remaining annual activities of IDP in the IMOs to fast track activities and accomplishments.

Regional Manager Engr. Roberto Dela Cruz emphasized the importance of the said activity to strengthen institutional works of the agency. He further encouraged the participants to work together in the preparation of relevant reports needed most especially in monitoring and implementation of Rice Contract Farming Support Program.

The conduct of the activity is part of the Agency's preparation for the upcoming Nationwide IDP Supervision, Monitoring, Evaluation and Support (SMES).

NIA Laguna-Rizal IMO Leads Distribution of Observation Wells in Sta. Cruz RIS for Tubuan-Tanza Irrigators’ Associations

PILA, Laguna - NIA Laguna Rizal IMO conducts the Distribution of Observation Wells spearheaded by Engr. Fidel P. Martinez together with NIA IV-A officials to the two (2) Irrigators' Associations of Sta. Cruz RIS particularly Tubuan-Tanza IA and Masagana IA.

The distributed perforated observation wells [PVC pipes] are inserted 15 cm into the ground to monitor the water depth in the field. This water-saving technology aims to reduce water demand and consumption in rice fields without decreasing crop yields.

Moreover, the adaptation of this technology is in accordance with the NIA Board of Directors Resolution No. 2383-16 series of 2016 and NIA MC 35 s. 2016.
