Turnover of Bagong Pook Solar Pump Irrigation Project

HAPPENING NOW: Thirty new hectares of agricultural land in Barangay Urdaneta, Magallanes, Cavite will now be provided with year-round irrigation service as NIA Region IV-A turns over the P15-million Bagong Pook Solar Pump Irrigation Project to the farmers of Samahan ng Magsasaka ng Bagong Urdaneta (SAMABAU), Inc. 

The project construction started on March 30, 2023 and was completed on January 12, 2024. With 12 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs), the project symbolizes the commitment of the government to provide sustainable irrigation service to the Filipino farmers. 

NIA CARP-IC Project Manager Engr. Reyne B. Ugay, NIA CALABARZON Regional Manager Engr. Roberto J. Dela Cruz, Acting Cavite-Batangas IMO Manager Engr. Romulo M. Angeles, DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer James Arthur T. Dubongco, local government officials, IA Vice President Garbo M. Kiwas, and farmers are present in the event.

1st Contractor’s Forum of NIA LRIMO

NIA-Laguna Rizal IMO conducted its 1st Contractor's Forum for CY 2024 led by  Division Manager Engr. Fidel Martinez. The meeting catered to discussion on the status of CY 2023 Projects and the preparation for implementation of CY 2024 Projects. 

The objective of the forum was to facilitate dialogue, collaboration, and information exchange among contractors involved in the execution of projects. It served as a platform for discussing the status of ongoing projects, addressing challenges, and strategizing for the successful implementation of upcoming projects.

The activity was attended by Regional Manager Engr. Roberto Dela Cruz, EOD Manager Engr. Erwin Lucela, LRIMO key personnel, and contractors.

Finalization of the IWRMP of Balayungan RIS

LOOK! NIA-CBIMO conducted the Finalization of the Irrigation Water Resource Management Plan (IWRMP) of Balayungan RIS, the pilot in-house formulation under Rehabilitation & Protection of Water Resource Supporting Irrigation Systems nationwide, participated by representatives from NIA Central Office headed by Mr. Tony Gumpal, Jr. and delegates from Regional Office, LRIMO, and QIMO.

The activity discussed the modification and simplification of the plan to be effectively applied in the implementation stage of the project. The 5-day event is composed of sub-activities essential to the management plan such as write-shop, disclosure of draft management plan through a consultation meeting with the prospective beneficiaries of the project, and site visitation of the proposed delineation area.

Free eye check-up on Heart's Day

February 14 - The National Irrigation Administration Region IV-A, led by Regional Manager Engr. Roberto Dela Cruz, celebrates Heart’s Day with the Free Eye Check-Up and Cardiovascular Health Talk.

The activities underscore the importance of employees’ health and welfare as it will positively impact work productivity and contribute to organizational success. 

In his message, RM Dela Cruz encourages the Agency’s workforce to consistently express their love to the organization and its stakeholders by unceasingly serving the agriculture sector. 

“Kung anuman yung goals natin dapat focus lang tayo. Huwag natin hayaan na hindi natin ma-attain yung mga targets natin. Elevate natin yung ating mga trabaho”, he said.
