Macasipac Pump Irrigation Project sa Santa Maria, Laguna, Pinasinayaan!

Pebrero 16- Ginanap ang Turnover Ceremony ng Macasipac Pump Irrigation Project (PIP) sa Santa Maria, Laguna na pinangunahan ni NIA IV-A Regional Manager Engr. Wilson Lopez kasama si Division Manager ng Laguna-Rizal IMO Engr. Armando Flores at Santa Maria, Laguna Vice Mayor Atty. Norlito Briones.

Natapos ang proyekto noong nakaraang taon na may layong mapatubigan ang nasa may dalawampung (20) ektaryang gulayan. Inaasahang matutulungan nito ang nasa may tatlumpu’t isang (31) miyembrong magsasaka na kabilang sa Samahan ng Maggugulay ng Macasipac Farmers, Inc.

Sa mensahe ni Vice Mayor Norlito Briones, lubos ang kanyang pasasalamat sa mga proyektong ipinagkakaloob ng NIA sa kanilang bayan at siniguro nito ang patuloy na suporta ng lokal na pamahalaan sa NIA.

"Itong proyektong ito ay patunay na kumikilos ang ating Gobyerno para supprtahan ang ating mga magsasaka kaya naman buong buo po ang suporta ng Bayan ng Sta. Maria sa NIA para sa mga pagawain nito sa patubig”, sambit niya.

Ipinaliwanag naman ni Engr. Armando Flores ang mga detalye ng proyekto at hinikayat ang mga magsasaka na patuloy na makipag ugnayan sa Ahensiya para sa mas pinabilis na aksyon sa problema sa irigasyon.

"Kung mayroon pa po kayong alam na pwede magkaroon ng irigasyon, huwag po kayong mag-atubili o mag alinlangan na lumapit sa aming tanggapan at kayo po ay aming didinggin", dagdag niya.

Sa mensahe ni IA President G. Timoteo Escano, ibinahagi niya ang kanilang lubos na pasasalamat sa proyektong ipinagkaloob sa kanila.

"Malaking tulong po ito dahil dati manu-mano po kami kumukuha ng tubig mula sa ilog gamit ang timba para patubigan ang aming mga pananim. Pero dahil po dito [proyekto], mas mapapabilis na ang aming mga gawain sa pagsasaka", kuwento niya.

Binigyang diin namn ni RM Wilson Lopez sa kanyang mensahe ang pagkakaroon ng mas matibay na koordinasyon sa pagitan ng NIA at sa mga Local Government Units (LGUs) upang mas maraming sakahan pa ang mapatubigan.

"Sama-sama natin i-angat ang Agrikultura at kabuhayan ng magsasaka. Katuwang natin ang ating LGU sa pagbibigay ng suporta sa magsasaka. Ang ating mandato ay palawakin pa ang ating lupang sakahan na napapatubigan”, banggit niya.

Irrigation reaches far-flung communities in Laguna

February 10 - A total of 88 farmers will now enjoy efficient and effective irrigation systems in the municipality of Cavinti.

NIA IV-A Engineering and Operations Division Manager Erwin Lucela together with NIA Laguna-Rizal IMO officials and Municipal Administrator of Cavinti Laguna Ms. Vina Lorraine Orolfo lead the turnover ceremony of two (2) irrigation projects in said municipality.

Completed last 2022, the Labayo SIP is set to irrigate a total of 25 hectares and will benefit 44 farmers of Labayo Farmers Irrigators Association. Said project involves construction of canal system located in Brgy. Labayo.

Meanwhile, the Talaongan Pump Irrigation Project is a solar irrigation project aims to aid farmers to lower down agri. production cost. It will irrigate a total of 50 hectares of agri. lands in Brgy. Silangan Talaongan benefitting atleast 44 farmers of Sikaf Irrigators Association.

In her message, Ms. Orolfo expresses her gratitude to National Irrigation Administration for its effort to help far-flung communities. She added that the completion of the project will give rise to agricultural development in the area.

“Dahil po sa proyekto ng NIA unti-unti ng naabot yung malalayong sakahan dito sa aming bayan at ganun din natutulungan kami sa problema ng pagbaha dahil sa maayos na kanal ng NIA”, he added.

Both projects were part of the modernization and innovation effort of the Agency to contribute in the Food Security drive of the National Government.

Engr. Armando Flores explains the specifications of the project and shares future plans of the Agency for further development in the area.

“Marami po tayong pwede pa magawa dito sa bayan ng Cavinti sapagkat napakalawak pa ng mga agricultural lands dito. Kami naman po sa NIA ay laging nakaalalay lang sa inyong pangangailangan sa maayos na patubig.” said Engr. Flores.

“Tiyak po na maraming makikinabang na magsasaka dito sa magandang proyekto na ipinagkaloob ng NIA”, said IA President Mr. Celso Macapugay (Labayo SIP).

“Sigurado na po na makatatanim na kami kahit tag araw sapagkat meron na tayong maayos na patubig. Kaya sa mga kapwa ko magsasaka pangalagaan natin ito”, said IA President Mr. Abdulkadir Samidon (Talaongan SIP).

EOD Manager Erwin Lucela praises the farmers on their vital contribution to food sufficiency and security in the country. He encourages the farmers to actively interact with the Agency for immediate assistance on irrigation.

“Magtulungan po tayo dahil marami pa po tayong kailangan i-develop na mga sakahan, hindi po kami titigil hanggang may mga sakahan pa na hindi napapatubigan ng maayos”, he emphasized.

DM Lucela also highlights the importance of partnership with the Local Government Units (LGUs) for the succesful implementation and completion of the national infrastructure projects.

Solar Irrig. Project to boost agri. lands in Laguna

February 9 - NIA IV-A Regional Manager Wilson Lopez together with NIA officials of Laguna-Rizal IMO and Municipal Administrator of Sta. Cruz Laguna Mr. Melvin Bonza lead the turnover ceremony of Alipit Pump Irrigation Project (PIP) at Brgy. Alipit, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Completed last 2022, the Alipit PIP is set to irrigate a total of 28 hectares and will benefit 23 farmers of Alipit Irrigators Association.

In his speech, Mr. Bonza expresses his gratitude to National Irrigation Administration for its contribution to agriculture sector. He added that the completion of the project will be a great aid to uplift farmers’ lives.

“Muli natin ibalik ang pagkakilala sa Brgy. Alipit bilang nangungunang producer ng agriculture products dito sa bayan ng Sta. Cruz”, he added.

Alipit PIP is a Solar Irrigation project which will focus primarily on irrigation of high value crops. This is part of the modernization and innovation effort of the Agency to cut down the cost of agri. production.

“Gaya nga ng theme namin ngayon taon - NIA para sa progresibong Pilipinas, patuloy kaming sasabay para matulungan ang ating mga magsasaka para mas ma-i-angat ang kanilang kabuhayan at pamumuhay.” said Engr. Flores.

“Taos puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa NIA sa patuloy na suporta sa sektor ng Agrikultura. Sisiguruhin ko po na mas marami pang mga kasama ko dito sa brgy. ang makikinabang dito sa proyektong patubig”, said IA President Mr. Raymond Mendoza.

“Ang NIA po walang pinipiling boundaries lahat po ng magsasaka na nangangailangan ng maayos na patubig ay amin pong tutulungan. Alam po namin ang kahalagahan ng patubig sa agrikultua at magsasaka kaya patuloy po kaming magpupursige para mas malawak pa ang mga sakahan na naaabot ng maayos na patubig”, he said.

Two (2) Irrigation Projs. in Cavite Completed

NIA CBIMO Division Manager Engr. Jaime C. de Jesus led the turnover ceremony of Tambo Balagbag PIP and Banaba Cerca PIP in Indang, Cavite on February 7, 2023.

The Tambo Balagbag PIP is set to irrigate a total of 12 hectares of agricultural lands and will benefit a total of 24 farmers belonging to Samahan ng Agresibong Magsasaka ng Tambo Balagbag and Irrigators Association Inc. while the Banaba Cerca PIP targets to irrigate also a total of 12 hectares with 11 farmer-beneficiaries under Banaba Cerca Farmers and Irrigators Association Inc.

The two irrigation projects kick started the construction last June 2022 and completed ahead of time in December 2022. Engr. De Jesus highlighted the Agency's willingness to support the agriculture sector to achieve food security.

He encourages the farmers to use the system in mindfully. “Ito pong proyektong ito ay ating mahalin at alagaan sapagkat malaking tulong ito sa ating mga farmers upang maiangat ang kabuhayan ng bawat isang magsasaka”, he said.

NIA-CBIMO Sr. IDO Ms. Wilma V. Granados, in her speech, challenged the beneficiaries to use the irrigation project wisely and efficiently. She also discussed the process and requirements to acquire an irrigation project. “Patuloy pa din kami sa paghahanap ng maaaring mabenepisyuhan ng ganitong proyekto”, she added.

On behalf of the Municipal Mayor of Indang, Engr. Alona Yap, Community Affairs Officer extends her gratitude to NIA for putting this kind of project in the municipality of Indang. She mentioned that this kind of interventions will greatly help the agriculture in the municipality. “Napakagandang programa ito dahil una sa lahat ito ay libre. Napakahalaga ng patubig sa produksyon ng gulay at prutas”, Engr. Yap said.

NIA IV-A sets stronger commitment to kickstart 2023

The National Irrigation Administration Region IV-A joins all NIA offices nationwide in expressing its gratitude towards the Agency, Filipino farmers, and nation thru the annual Ushering activity with this year’s theme “NIA Para Sa Progresibong Pilipinas”.

Regional Manager Wilson Lopez highlights the importance of innovation and modernization efforts of the Agency in providing efficient and effective irrigation systems to Filipino farmers and Agriculture sector. He emphasizes that the Agency will continue to be of service for the general welfare of farmers.

“Indeed, it is a grateful day para sa ating lahat. Ang dami mga challenges na maaari natin ma-encounter this year pero dapat hindi nawawala yung pagiging grateful sa atin. Huwag natin sasayangin yung mga opportunities na ibinibigay sa atin ng ating Ahensiya para mas maging epektibo tayong public servant”, he added.

The “NIA Para sa Progresibong Pilipinas” is the Agency’s way to promote its relevance in nation-building thru realization of its objectives. The activity is also a form of acknowledging the greater things and opportunities that the Agency has contributed to its workforce, farmers, agriculture, and country’s economy.

Administrative and Finance Division Manager Ms Reynaria Tapia appeals to all the NIA IV-A officials and employees to always put the best effort in providing excellent service to the Agency’s stakeholders. “Nararapat lang na ang isukli natin bilang pasasalamat sa ating Ahensiya ay yung magandang serbisyo natin para sa ating magsasaka”, she added.

Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Erwin Lucela identifies the Agency as a ‘blessing’ not only to its employees but more importantly to agriculture sector. “Lagi natin tandan na yung blessing na natatanggap natin tulad nung mga sweldo, experiences, recognition ay dapat na ibinabalik natin sa ating mga magsasaka sa pamamagitan ng tinatawag na quality service.”, he said.

The NIA Ushering 2023 features Gratitude Wall dubbed as “Agyamanak Iti Padanum” which means “Thank You, Irrigation”. This wall symbolizes unity and gratitude to the Agency as it transforms the lives of the Filipino people.

Said activity is an annual major event of the Agency to kickstart the year with the spirit of camaraderie.
