NIA Cavite-Batangas IMO, led by Engr. Edwin Nazareno, will deliver sacks of palay to its partner Irrigators Associations (IAs) Cooperatives: Cavite Farmers Irrigators Agriculture Cooperative and Nasugbu Farmers and Fisherfolks Agriculture Cooperative. Said distribution is an important part of NIA's Rice Contract Farming Program.
Beginning in August, NIA will offer rice at PHP 29 per kilogram. This effort is part of a broader initiative expected to produce approximately 100 million kilograms of rice nationwide through extensive contract farming program.
To make rice more accessible, 10-kilogram bags of rice will be sold at Kadiwa stores and through the partner IA Cooperatives. This supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s goal of supporting agriculture sector, assisting local farmers, attaining food security, and reducing rice prices.
