NIA Quezon IMO conducted Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) Training Workshop in partnership with Philrice in Lucena City. It was participated by Intitutional Development Unit, Operations Staff, and Regional Office Staff.
They also conducted actual application of the usage of observation well in the field. The goal of the training workshop is to provide a learning structure for farmers to use AWD technology to increase their productivity.
Alternative wetting and drying (AWD) is a low-cost invention that gives farmers the ability to respond to situations where there is a lack of water (such as drought), boosts overall farm production efficiency, and reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
