March 21 - The Pangil Pump Irrigation Project (PIP) is now ready to irrigate a total of 12 hectares of agricultural land in Brgy. Pangil, Amadeo, Cavite. Started last August 2022, the project is set to benefit 13 farmers of Lingap Amadeo Irrigators Association Inc.

“Kami po sa samahan ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa NIA para po sa ibinigay na patubig para sa aming mga magsasaka”, said IA President Ms. Fe dela Cruz Rodil.

Hon. Redel John Dionisio, Mayor of Amadeo, highlighted the importance of water in agriculture. He shared that this project will encourage farmers to plant crops even during summer.

“Hanggang ako ang Mayor ng lugar na ito, I will retain 70% of agricultural lands sa bayan ng Amadeo. Kaya naman sana ay marami pang proyekto ang ipagkaloob sa amin ng NIA upang mas mapaangat pa ang agrikultura sa Amadeo”, he ended.

The Project-In-Charge Engr. Lorenz Bart Opina pointed the importance of strong partnership with the Local Government Units in the implementation of irrigation projects.

“Kaya sana po ay patuloy kayong magtanim at gamitin ng maayos ang patubig na ipinagkaloob sa inyo ng NIA”, he said.

NIA Cavite-Batangas IMO Manager Engr. Jaime De Jesus shared that the Agency will continue its effort to support the agriculture sector to address food of the region.

“Pag-ibayuhin po natin na ingatan itong proyektong ito. Lagi natin linisin upang ito ay magamit nyo ng matagal na panahon”, he said.

Highlights of the event include ceremonial turn-over of the symbolic key, ribbon cutting, and signing of turnover documents.

Present during the occasion were officials from NIA, Municipal Agriculture Office, the Local Government Unit of Amadeo, Cavite, and the Irrigators Association. | K. Oliveros
