In line with the Government's Zero Hunger Program, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has teamed up with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Cavite Batangas Irrigation Management Office (IMO) to improve people's lives. Together, they aim to help communities learn skills and gather resources for better livelihoods through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

The comprehensive 4-day training from May 20-23,2024 covers various aspects such as SLP orientation, organizational development, leadership, microenterprise development, financial literacy, and basic business management. This equips the participants with essential skills for success. Participants in this program are from families receiving support from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and local farmers.

With guidance from both agencies, participants are now ready to start their own businesses. In Naic, Cavite, 15 program participants will begin vegetable farming, while another 15 from Maragondon, Cavite, are prepared to start a chicken and duck egg production venture. Each group will receive Php 225,000.00 from DSWD as their starting capital. These projects will not only help participants earn more money but also provide food for their families and communities.
