PHP 10-Million Irrigation Project to irrigate farmlands in Quezon Province.
July 31, 2021 - The National Irrigation Administration IV-A together with Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) thru Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program - Irrigation Component (CARP-IC) turned-over Solar Irrigation project in San Andres, Quezon.
The Talisay Small Irrigation Project (SIP) is set to irrigate a total of 41.38 hectares of agricultural lands in Brgy. Talisay, San Andres Quezon. It will benefit a total of 63 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries as identified by DAR.
Said project pegged at PHP 10-million pesos was consist of two (2) packages. The Package 1 involves supply, delivery and installation of 3 units of Solar Pump works and accessories while Package 2 involves construction of 1,531 meters canal lining and canal structures.
In his speech, NIA IV-A Regional Manager highlighted the importance of inclusivity in agricultural development, wherein, all agriculture-rich municipalities must be aided and assisted by sufficient and efficient irrigation systems.
"Mahalaga ang ginagampanan na role ng ating mga LGUs para maisagawa ang ganitong mga proyekto na makapag a-angat ng sektor ng agrikultura at kita ng ating mga magsasaka:, he added.
DAR Assistant Secretary Rene Colocar shared government's effort to uplift the lives of our Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs). He promised to find ways to continuously support far-flung communities monitored by their Agency.
Quezon 3rd District Representative Aleta Suarez showed her gratitude to the Agencies involve in making this project a reality.
"Kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa NIA at DAR thru the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program - Irrigation Component (CARP-IC) dahil sa wakas ay magkakaroon na ng sapat ng patubig dito sa mga kababayan ko dito sa Brgy. Talisay", she said.
